The design seamlessly weaves the original structure with the new addition, creating a unified and welcoming space for cancer treatment and care. Enhancing the Cancer Center Experience
The expansion features a double-height lobby displaying an inspiring montage of donor recognition and patient stories unique to Columbus, GA. The Hope Heal Inspire Wall serves as a central element, celebrating resilience while enhancing the healing atmosphere. Thoughtful material choices, including warm woods, textured surfaces, and bright neutral tones, reflect the natural surroundings and regional aesthetics. Large windows and open spaces bring in natural light, creating an uplifting and calming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Patient-Centered Design for Comfort and Healing
UG Group prioritized patient and staff well-being by incorporating elements that promote comfort and tranquility. The flooring design, inspired by organic patterns, connects the main entrance with key interior spaces. Marble panels at nurse stations and stone insets recall the movement of the nearby river, reinforcing a calming environment. Soft color accents in curtains, divider walls, and seating bring the outdoors inside, fostering a sense of peace and relaxation. Additionally, carefully curated artwork featuring local imagery strengthens the connection between the Cancer Center and its surrounding community.
