UG Group (formerly 2WR+ Partners) partnered with the Columbus Consolidated Government, Columbus Adult Hockey Association, Hurricanes Hockey Program, and the Columbus Cottonmouths to bring this vision to life. The Columbus Ice Rink now provides a modern facility that meets the needs of athletes and the local community. This project transformed a long-time dream into reality, creating a top-tier venue for both recreational and competitive hockey.
Designed for Athletes and Fans
The Columbus Ice Rink delivers a professional-grade experience with seating for 450 spectators, locker rooms for leagues and professionals, a fully equipped pro shop, and concession areas. The facility also includes a party space and VIP room, creating opportunities for private events. These features make the rink the practice facility for the Columbus Cottonmouths of the ECHL and the home ice for Auburn University.
Striking Architecture and Functional Design
Located next to the Columbus Civic Center, the rink complements its neighboring venue while maintaining a unique identity. UG Group incorporated a welcoming entrance and curved canopies to enhance visibility and aesthetics. These design elements guide visitors to key seating areas while improving the overall experience.
